Rave Pattern

RAVE-PATTERN is where rave culture and machine knitting meet: a modified knitting machine processes the ravers’ sweat data live during the club night.

Biometric information is collected via wearables, translated into knitting patterns and processed into a constantly growing textile. The performative installation makes physical intensities visible and tells of collective rhythms, digital transformations and new textile aesthetics.

The project combines interdisciplinary performance, historical technology and club experience to create a haptic archive of the evening – a performative data sculpture in which the individual bodies condense into a common, constantly changing pattern.
